Eric Standring is a husband and a father of three, ages 16, 13, and 11. He grew up in Orange County, California but started playing competitive volleyball at age 14 in England at the American School in London about 30 years ago. Eric graduated from UC Davis and played Men's club volleyball for most of his 10 years there. After inspiration from instruction by gold medal winners of the '84, '88, and '96 Olympics, Eric started coaching. Eric's passion is to apply his SMC masters in leadership to youth volleyball. Today, Eric coaches club (NorCal) and high school (Campolindo), volleyball; and is LMYA Commissioner (Lafayette-Moraga Rec Vball) for about two-hundred 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
